For 48 hours from 5 Nov, South East Dance is co-presenting the digital world premiere of Years by Sydney Dance Company, as part of Brighton Digital Festival.
Choreographed by Rafael Bonachela, Artistic Director of Sydney Dance Company, Years is an online work, created in lockdown, and set to Australian musician Stephen Emmerson’s reimagining of Bach’s Goldberg Variations. The screening will be introduced by our Artistic Director, Cath James; Artistic Director of Sydney Dance Company Rafael Bonachela; and Sydney Dance Theatre Patron, Darcey Bussell DBE.
Cath James says: “We are so excited to be co-presenting the world premiere of this new digital dance work Years. Rafael Bonachela and I danced together at Rambert Dance Company in the early days of our careers and I’ve been following his choreographic journey ever since.
“As a dance organisation with a long history of championing, producing and presenting dance on screen, this is a fantastic opportunity for our audiences to be introduced to this incredibly talented company and experience international perspectives on dance.”
To watch simply book a ticket below to one of the two screenings at 11am and 8pm on 5 Nov and you’ll be sent a link allowing you to watch introduction and the film for 48 hours.
The digital online screening of Years is presented as part of Who Are We Now? The UK/Au Season 2021, in partnership with South East Dance and Brighton Digital Festival.
