Turn the streets of Brighton into your own video game - discover how to code a maze with multiple levels, cool power ups and custom artwork
Mazes are a great game to make in Scratch, for either newcomers or pros. In this workshop, you’ll learn to design a custom map and then code the game to send you back to the start if you touch the walls or one of the enemy sprites. We’ll also show you how to create cool power-ups to help you whizz past obstacles or shrink through tiny gaps.
These one hour workshops require no previous experience, all equipment is provided.
1pm - suitable for ages 7+
3pm - suitable for ages 10+
Workshops for both age groups will be delivered in person, by Signals at Lighthouse.
Signals’ community projects enable disadvantaged groups to work on media production projects, such as; films, animation, and creative coding; empowering participants with digital media skills. Signals work with ages 7 and up, helping participants to realise their potential and share their stories.
Produced by Lighthouse and supported through Digital Democracies, a programme led by Threshold Studios and funded by Arts Council England.
Digital Democracies connects three UK-based commissioning festivals, Frequency International Festival of Digital Culture (produced by Threshold Studios), Freedom Festival (produced by Freedom Festival Arts Trust) and Brighton Digital Festival.
